Hill Valley ChamberWhat Hill Valley Chamber's website collects about you, where it is kept, and who else handles it.
Hill Valley Chamber runs this website. It is built and hosted on CoreFusion OS, which keeps the information described on this page for Hill Valley Chamber.
Questions about this policy, or about what Hill Valley Chamber holds about you, go to Hill Valley Chamber.
Pages reach you through Cloudflare’s network and are served by Render, the platform’s host, which keeps a log of the requests the site receives. Like any web request, yours carries your IP address and details of your browser.
When you send a form or make a booking, the platform’s server records the IP address the request came from in its request log.
The typefaces on this site are served from the site itself, not from a font service.
Pictures uploaded to this site are stored with, and served from, Cloudflare.
When a page cannot be found, the site counts the address that was asked for. When a member’s page is viewed, the site adds one to that member’s count for the day. Neither records anything about you.
This site loads no analytics or advertising tags.
For its visitors, this site itself sets a cookie in only two cases:
People who edit this site for Hill Valley Chamber carry cookies of their own. Visitors are never given them.
Signing in to the members’ area sets a cookie too: see below.
The contact form asks for your name and email address and, if you choose, your phone number, what your message is about, and the message. Hill Valley Chamber keeps it in its records, and it is emailed to Hill Valley Chamber’s staff. You receive a short email saying it arrived. Email is sent through Mailgun.
The membership application asks for your name, email address and phone number and, if you choose, your business name, a membership level, a promo code and a message. Hill Valley Chamber keeps it in its records.
Other forms on this site keep your answers in Hill Valley Chamber’s records and email them to the staff Hill Valley Chamber names for that form. A form set up to do so also emails you a copy.
The contact form, the membership application, the other forms and the box for a page’s password are checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, to stop automated submissions. Your IP address is sent to Cloudflare for that check.
To limit how many times one visitor can submit, the platform keeps a scrambled form of your IP address with a note of each submission, for a year. The same scrambled value is kept with your answers to the forms above. It can be matched back to an address by someone who already has that address to try.
Booking a place asks for your name, email address, organization, where to send the receipt, and the name and email address of anyone you book for, plus any questions the event asks. Each person named is added to Hill Valley Chamber’s contacts.
When an event asks for every attendee to be named, each named person — the booker included — is given a members’ area account they can sign in to later, unless they already have one. No email is sent to them when it is made.
If someone from your organization has already booked places at the same event, the booking form tells you how many places your organization holds and who booked them, by name. The same is shown to colleagues who book after you.
Your confirmation page lists the people on your booking with their door codes and whether they have checked in. Anyone who has the page’s address can see it.
Card payments are made on the payment processor’s own page — Stripe, or Zoho Payments, whichever Hill Valley Chamber uses — and your card details are entered there, not on this site. For a payment like this, the platform tells the processor what is being bought and how much it costs, and does not send it your name or email address.
After you pay, a receipt is emailed to the receipt address you gave. Before the event, a reminder may be emailed.
Buying from an event’s offers or catalogue asks for your name, email address, organization and receipt address, and a promo code where one is offered.
Bidding in an online auction asks for a name. Paying for an item you won asks for your name and email address.
Members sign in with a link emailed to them, which works once and for 15 minutes. Each request for a link is recorded with the email address it was asked for.
Members can also sign in with Google, which is asked only for your name, email address and profile.
Signing in sets a cookie that keeps you signed in for 30 days, or until you close the browser if you say you are on a shared computer.
If you turn on notifications, your browser’s push address is kept, and notices are sent through your browser maker’s push service (Google, Mozilla or Apple).
If you save a card for automatic payments, your name and email address are sent to Stripe to hold the card. The platform keeps the card’s brand, last four digits and expiry date, never the full number.
When Hill Valley Chamber sends a newsletter, it can send it to everyone in its contacts who has an email address — including people added when they booked a place or bought something.
Every newsletter carries a link to unsubscribe. Once you unsubscribe, you are left out of every later newsletter.
A member’s page can show a Google map of the member’s address. It loads from Google when the page opens.
Some pages offer an interactive Google map. It loads from Google only when you press the button to load it.
Videos play from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced address, or from Vimeo with its do-not-track setting on. Either way they load from those companies.
